The Center for Studies in Social Sciences on Judaism - Koschmar born in mid-2005 by a group of young people, advance their research or complete their postgraduate degree courses in various disciplines of social and human (sociology, political science, history and anthropology), noted the absence of an academic center that would interest both the history and present of Argentine Jewish social group and, in turn, seek to address the systematic and rigorous. One of the most visible and problematic aspects of this deficit for the development of our research was the absence of the inside of the academy who have specific training in this area of study. The initial target for the first two years to amend the previous situation was laying the groundwork for the consolidation of academic studies on the Jewish social group: discussion of basic texts on the subject to establish a common basis and update the literature used, initiating a critical discussion of production and realization of successive meetings with local and foreign scholars specializing in the area.

In 2007 the group entered the IDES (Institute of Economic and Social Development) through the area of culture headed by Elizabeth Jelin from then incorporate new investigators diversifying the themes of work.
